Timber Preservation & Infestation Control

WoodwormMost buildings in the UK contain untreated timbers which can become affected by infestation if allowed to become damp or left untreated exposing to the possibility of dry or wet rot. When any of these organisms attack timber, they will cause loss of structural strength. In severe cases structural damage to the building is possible, so it is important to take action whenever active timber decay is identified.

In most cases, it will be necessary to apply a wood preservative to timbers in and around the affected area and safeguard against further infestation by treating all timber products within the premises.

NCDP employ the following methods to apply timber infestation control: The affected area will be thoroughly cleaned and all debris removed prior to any treatment application.

A suitable chemical treatment agent applied and a second application if required. The same chemical is utilised a timber preservation method.
